Description
This fixative is usually referred to as Tellyesniczky’s fluid but, according to Gray, Tellyesniczky himself ascribed it to his assistant, Bela V. Lüko. It is also commonly known as formal alcohol acetic.
It is sometimes recommended for tissues in which it is important to preserve glycogen. High ethanol concentration fluids are often considered to be preferable for this purpose.
Time
Up to 24 hours.
Aftertreatment
Transfer to ethanol with a concentration higher than 70%.
