Fluorescent Formulation
Solution

| Acriflavine | 1 | g |
| Distilled water | 200 | mL |
| Potassium metabisulfite | 2 | g |
| Hydrochloric acid, 1N | 20 | mL |
Preparation
- Dissolve the dye in the water and mix well.
- Add the hydrochloric acid and mix well.
- Add the metabisulfite and mix well.
- Stopper tightly and leave 48 hours in the dark.
- Filter.
Notes
- Acridine orange may also be used to make this solution.
